Ok, with show numero uno well and truly done and dusted, welcome to the prep for show 2 of “Last Night Tonight”.

But first, a recap.

I hope you all enjoyed the first ep of complete nonsense and fly by the seat of your pants TV. On Tuesday morning I got the email from Judith Lucy’s people that she would not be making it to the LNT studios on account of a growing sickness that they wouldn’t confirm or deny to be swine flu. Keep in mind, we shoot on Wednesday night. Eleventh hour in all it’s glory, it sure was. So after a mad rush to find a suitable replacement at the 12th hour, we decided to have an old guest of ‘Daniel Smith 180’ (my previous QCTV show) Lachlan Howe to do his thing as Judith Lucy and I’m sure you’ll agree he made up for it.

The opening ‘kiss’ intro had to be shot twice. It. was. AWESOME! I pushed for a third take but apparently “we got it”. Whatevs.

The show was shot in this order, if you could tell. Rossi - Judith - Opener. It was a madhouse at the LNT studios for the first ever LIVE shoot, but the good news is that we have absolutely no cobwebs left and are back in black THIS THURSDAY @ 8 WITH SPECIAL GUEST REGGIE WATTS!

Ahhhhh.. it’s now at that point that I’ve had SO much to do in prep for the first show, that now that I have everything taken care of, I can’t shake this feeling that I have something that needs to be done, that I’ve now gotten used to.

Does that even make sense?

I trust you know what I mean. You, the blog reading community.

Tonight I included a joke in my opening “Joke Parade” that I think is good and smart and all that, but I’m not so sure many people will get it. I guess people not getting my jokes is nothing new, so why me worry? But see if you can guess which one it is. I’ll probably make some mention of it once it’s received with grave, grave silence.

Woop woop. Show tapes LIVE in T-minus 17 hours. T minus. What the eef is that anyway?

Alright ya’ll!!

In just three days, “LNT” premieres on QCTV (Ch. 31) at 8pm Thursday, and here’s what you can expect:

25 minutes of half-decent entertainment beamed directly to your living room.

Also, interviews with a very special guest (see below) and local electro juggernauts B.M.X!!

Plus I’ll be rabbiting on about some nonsense in between all that so probably best you try and switch over at the most opportune times. GOOD LUCK!

Jigsaw Puzzle TONIGHT!

Right now, what will soon become the first episode of LNT is all but many pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, just waiting to be put together on Wednesday @ 6pm. My life right now is a day-to-day juggling act, managing all the pieces and making sure they land where they have to by then.

That pretty much sums up the whole process.

For example, the live sketch that will be part of the show is comprised right now of actors, costumes, scripts, locations, times and so on. And there has to be pre-recorded footage shot before that goes live. So I have to make sure all this is booked and confirmed and going ahead by and on Wednesday.

And that’s just 5 minutes of the 30 minute show. And obviously while I’m working on set design or my monologue, other parts of the show aren’t being attended to.

How will it work out?

I had a manic day as usual today, and to chill out, decided to buy a cigar from the Story Bridge Hotel and walk along the river up until the bridge.
